Another friend of mine has a wine business in Miami. He is known as Elk but his name is Elchonon Hellinger. His prices and selection are 2nd to none and his storage is probably the best in the area. Give him a text on WhatsApp at: +17867501019Recently Read Posts

David, I have had recently discussions with Noam and Gil trying to figure this out as I see some variations in my own notes. There is confusion on this because of inconsistencies in Recanati’s practices. In the 2004, it was in fact Petit Syrah, I was told, which is where many people picked it up (and my website’s computer system has a tendency to automatically change back even when I correct it). The 2005 was Petite Sirah. It has been pretty much all over the place, with the website itself in one column as recently as today using “Petit Syrah.” Gil has advised me today that they will endeavor henceforth to be consistent and make it the standard Petite Sirah spelling.
Hello Mr Squires!
Indeed when I go to wineries in Israel, where Petite Sirah is becoming a hot ticket varietal, my friend and I often correct the spelling on the labels they show us. To be fair the whole language thing is hard enough – then pile on top of that the fact that most people do not get Durif or what it really is – and it becomes a nightmare to manage – both on the winery and the consumer sides. It was an honor to have you post a comment here – feel free to correct me or send me feedback whenever you have a moment to set me straight!
Best Wished to you!
David
